Spring Romp & Gathering

This was the spring gathering of our ACBS membership and a celebration of our beautiful wooden boats. The plan was to meet at the Wolfeboro public docks at 1 pm for a Spring Romp, a scenic cruise on our beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. But the weather gods were not with us, the monsoon rains continued and we had to cancel our 2010 Spring Romp.

But the rain ended later in the afternoon and our social gathering at the home of Charley and Ilona Train was a grand success. Many thanks to Charley and Ilona !!!

A few welcoming remarks form our chapter president Gerry Prusko and a few words from our boat show chairman Bill John. Then we had a small auction for the original Peter Ferber artwork of last year's boat show poster.

Many thanks to Barbara Naramore and her crew at the WolfeCatch for another great catering job, the swordfish was superb and the steaks were huge !!!

This summer's 37th Annual Lake Winnipesaukee Antique & Classic Boat Show at the Meredith public docks will be another huge gathering of over 80 beautiful antique and classic wooden boats, on display all day long in a judged competition. This is quite a sight to behold, with all the vintage boats and large crowds. For a special treat, get to the docks early on Saturday morning to watch and listen as the vintage boats arrive under their own power. The sights and sounds will be magnificent, and to get an idea of the magnitude of this gathering of wooden boats, please take a moment to view our photo album from last year's  Lake Winnipesaukee Antique & Classic Boat Show.
