Annual Fall Foliage Cruise & Gathering

October 9th, 2010

Recap & Photos !!!

George Johnson started this tradition years ago, and now Charlie Train has stepped up to to revive our annual trek. This is the Fall Gathering of our ACBS membership, and a celebration of our beautiful wooden boats. Our cruise usually begins at the Wolfeboro public docks around at 8:30 am. Then if the weather conditions permit, we head out under Governors Island bridge toward Paugus Bay, then on to the Naswa Resort for brunch. Many of our less adventuress members wimp out and make the trek to the Naswa by car. But we all gather for a fall celebration and the excellent food and service at the Naswa Resort.

Many thanks to Karen Sanders for an adventurous Fall Foliage Cruise this year. We left the Foxwood boathouse bright and early, but by the time we reached Winter Harbor the wind and rollers pickup up and we started taking spray in the mid cockpit. So we came about and returned to the boathouse and made the trek to the Naswa Resort by car. We made the effort, had a rather spirited boat ride, but in the end we too wimped out. Here are some videos taken from Foxwood - it got rough!!!

We had a good turnout for our fall gathering at the Naswa again this year, with well over 45 ACBS members. Good friends, lots of spirited banter, many, many stories, and a great brunch - our Fall Gathering.

Several days later, the wind finally clamed down, the water was flat, the sun was out and Karen Sanders took Foxwood out for one last glorious fall foliage cruise on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.
